Indian Media : Becoming a circus?
In the last decade or so ,there has been a boom in the Indian television Industry and along with it there has been a drastic change in the functioning of the news media. While no one can deny the fact that the news media has played a vital and positive role in getting justice in cases like Jessica murder case , of late what i feel is that a certain section of media has become hyper-active and has been continuously crossing its boundaries .I still feel sick to my stomach when i remember the drama that the media had created around the murder of poor Aarushi Talwar.Who can forget when a bunch of jokers who supposedly called themselves reporters and detectives came up with their own ridiculous theories and angles every other day.But where are they now when justice has still not been served.Just because the case was fresh, they could spend 12 hours a day on the case but now a year after they dont have a minute ? In the recent Shiney Aahuja case also ,a certain section of media is just interested in cheap publicity to increase its viewership and not in bringing out the real truth which should be its primary goal. The media should understand its responsibility and its huge impact on the mass opinion on its own and should impose self-regulation .
